WELCOME TO GAY MEN’S HEALTH
SCOTLAND’S CHARITY FOR GAY MEN
OTHER
There are plenty of different ways to make contact with men - here are a few of them:
Newspaper / magazine ads: there are loads of guys posting ads, from those looking for specialist sex to those looking for a bit of romance. Take time to know to get the person before meeting them – there is no rush.
Gay phonelines: there are plenty of gay guys out there chatting and meeting through phonelines, as anyone who’s watched late night TV adverts will tell you. Lots of guys swear by this method, though they can get pricey, particularly if you find yourself using them a lot (and quite a few men say they find them pretty addictive). Again, be careful about meeting up and remember that some people do embellish their descriptions of themselves to make themselves more attractive.
Social groups: there are plenty of groups that meet all over Scotland on a regular basis so if you fancy giving bird watching, rugby, writing or rambling a go! Check our links section for your local switchboard, which should have details of what’s on in your area.
Everyday life: Gay men do the same jobs, run the same errands and have the same kinds of routines as everyone else. It is possible to meet someone across the aisle shopping or while getting your car washed.
Friends and contacts: sometimes it can be true when a friend says “ I know this really cute guy”. Even if you are shy or don’t quite hit it off with him, at least you will have met someone new and maybe through expanding your social circle, you can increase your chances of finding someone just right for you.
Volunteering for Gay Men’s Health: actually we’re not kidding, if we had a pound for every beautiful relationship, faithful friendship or mind-blowing shag that came about as a result of two or more volunteers getting together...
