Annual Report 2002-2003Core MagazineThe pilot project of Core magazine is coming to an end and marks a successful period of continuous publication. Throughout this time, Core has been well supported by willing volunteers, agencies across Scotland and experienced individuals. With 4,000 copies distributed per issue, the magazine has endeavoured to promote good health and wellbeing across the gay community in Scotland and, by being a regular publication, is now an easily recognisable material for reference, information, contacts and fun (as our photo-strip will testify). Although produced by Gay Men’s Health, Core has purposely kept an open brief in regard to contributors. This common sense approach has allowed access to essential information, from a variety of organisations. This partnership approach will now play a large part in the evolution of Core; the next stage being a cross-community magazine funded by a number of agencies (including Beyond Barriers, Gay Men’s Health and the LGBT Centre for Health & Wellbeing). With an expanded vision, taking in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities, Core will continue to deliver a diverse mix of features and information to a readership throughout Scotland.
